This is the Saeco #738 plain base tapered bullet from their traditional line. For black powder or smokeless.
When sized at .379” the bottom three bands are sized. Next band up cast at about .378. with the next at .376”. Front driving band above the crimp grove is .373”.
For those shooter with over sized bores. The bottom two bands on this bullet cast at .382” with the third at .380” . Therefor we can size this bullet at what ever will chamber in your gun. Usually .380” is the limit. Measuring the inside diameter of a fired case will give you an idea of maximum bullet diameter that will chamber. These tapered bullets will ride down an over sized bore better than any other design.
I've a customer with a late model H&R Rifle shooting one hole groups at 70 yards with the .379“ bullet.
Early H&R rifles have over sized bores. We can make this bullet shoot as good as you'll get from one of those. Or any old Winchester lever gun.
